Twisted is a mystery drama about a teenager who returns to school after he's been released from jail for killing his aunt. Dark! Creepy! Oh, and then someone dies right when he returns. It's an interesting concept for a show. Will his character be sympathetic? How can a show center around a murderer (especially on ABC Family)?
So we're hooked on the premise, but what about Avan himself? The 21-year-old previously starred on the Nickelodeon show Victorious alongside *Victoria Justice*, and it's cool that he's not the typical, adorable Nick or Disney star. He writes, he plays music, he acts, he has a cool sense of style, and then there's all that long hair.

But of course, he's totally nice. In fact, he's more than nice. He co-founded *Straight But Not Narrow*, a group that trains young adults to be good allies for their LGBTQ peers. His pal and fellow sweet creature *Josh Hutcherson* is also an advocate with the group. I mean!
You're probably loving him by now, but you're not the only one. Avan's got a great girlfriend, too. He's dating Zoey Deutch, who co-starred in the teen vampire flick *Beautiful Creatures* earlier this year. A power couple!
